When I visited Boar's Head Nature Preserve in November 2014, I was first struck by the rock features lining the shore of Kennebecasis Bay. Here is the top-left corner of the canvas, "Boar's Head in Early Winter," while it was still in progress:
The completed canvas is 36 x 48". I also wanted to capture the interesting early winter colours (yellow ochres and bright oranges) found in the rock lichen and withered grass along the shore. This is a detail of the bottom-left portion of the canvas:
